My Expectations pre-EL were to have a good work environment and to work collaboratively on a project towards the same end goal. My office supervisor was Alessandro Calonego and my team member was Ashley Hamel. During this experience I learned more about laying out pages, and the importance of graphic elements. I also learned more about photoshop and got more experienced with it. Some challenges that I encountered were finding the right font to fit with my designs, finding a harmonious color scheme, and creating new ideas. The final mission was to create the FUA school magazine, which is what we were attempting to contribute to design wise. In the future I can now understand how design process's differ from what I originally was taught in school and adapt more fluently. Over all the EL experience has had a positive impact on my time in Florence and has allowed me to learn more about its past and under appreciated qualities.
First we were asked to make a series of covers that followed the theme of "Underground Florence" and kept an 80's undertone.

Over all my experience at SPEL was very educational and taught me a lot about how I work with design. I am grateful for the experience and got to try out a lot of new things! I think the only feedback I would have would be to be clearer with what the expectations were for the end of the project from the beginning. I think if we would have had clearer feedback/ a better idea of what the end goal was we could have done a better job designing for the magazine.
